When she says, "AI is simple to try and hard to scale," what I hear is: "The free demo of ChatGPT is fun, but making this stuff actually integrate with your ancient legacy systems without setting the building on fire is a nightmare. Luckily for you, we have armies of 24-year-old consultants with spreadsheets who can bill you for every agonizing step of the process."
Then there's my personal favorite: "talent rotation." This is just a beautifully sterile, HR-approved term for "firing people." It’s the next evolution of "downsizing" or "right-sizing." They talk about an "upskilling agenda," but let's be real. When an AI can do 90% of an analyst's job, what are you upskilling them for? To learn how to write better prompts for their own replacement? The whole thing feels... hollow.
Sweet also insists that "the bubble discussion is the wrong one." Of course it is. Its just a matter of time before the "human experience" they want at the center is the one that's most easily quantified and controlled.
Same Old Playbook, New Buzzwords
At the end of the day, Accenture is doing what it has always done. It’s a consulting firm. Its primary product isn't software or AI; its product is anxiety. They create a narrative of technological disruption, convince CEOs they are on the verge of becoming dinosaurs, and then sell them the hugely expensive, supposedly bespoke "solution." The tech is just the latest prop in the play. This AI Orchestrator ain't about changing the world. It’s about generating billable hours.
